Time To Relax
The great thing about using sketches is that they can force you to try something new. On my own I rarely think about layering different types of patterned paper. But this sketch from Let’s Scrapreally encouraged me to try this technique and I just love the results.

These photos captured a lazy spring day on our deck last year. The papers are from Paper Wishes’ Soft Nostalgia paper pack. Beautiful colors! As I was trying to think about what embellishments to use I came across in my stash the heritage scrapbooking dazzles. These came to me as part of my bi-monthly scrapbooking kit. I don’t have very many heritage photos so I wouldn’t normally have purchased these on my own. But the clocks inspired the title, “Time to Relax” and so gave me a reason to use them. I backed these with patterned papers.

I also used one corner dazzle on the top right hand corner. I used my silhouette to create the letters for the title and added some soft texture with the ribbon below the title.

So try a sketch that will challenge your natural style. You might really surprise yourself!
