Thinking of You Red Floral
I’m still thinking of the many who have been affected by the storm Sandy last week. We were very fortunate in our family. Everyone is well, no major property damage. But there are so many who are still recovering from the many losses. My thoughts and prayers are with them. So for today’s card I have a Thinking of You card.
The red card stock and background dotted paper are from StampTV’s Sun-Kissed Autumn kit. You couldn’t necessarily tell that they are part of an autumn collection, the simple patterns and colors can be used for any occasion, really.
The focal image comes from Various Verses by Gina K. Designs. I used Marvy markers in red and green to color the rubber stamp and then stamped the image onto the ivory card stock. I cut the image out using Spellbinders Ovals dies.
The sentiment also comes from the same Various Verses stamp set. I stamped it with Memento Rubarb Stalk ink, such a pretty red. I had this sheer red ribbon that I wanted to use and wasn’t sure what to do with it. Then I got the great idea to place it over the sentiment and was delighted to see that the stamped sentiment was still visible. I wrapped the ribbon around the ivory card stock piece, the tricky part came with gluing it onto the card. First I tried to just use the Glue Glider Pro, but it came peeling off. I finally added some glue dots and that did the trick.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks for stopping by!
