Thinking of You Mom
Mother’s day is a bitter sweet type of holiday for me. On the one hand I get to be pampered by my child and husband, reminding me that they do indeed appreciate all that I do as a Mom. On the other hand, I don’t get to spend any time with my own mother who lives in Puerto Rico. This card is for all of you who have a mother far away and to whom you send your messages across the miles.
I made this card using the Floral Cardmaker’s Ultimate Pack, which I mentioned in my last post, is no longer available at Paper Wishes. I’ve had the pack for a while now, but I hadn’t gotten around to playing with it. So you may see more projects using this paper pack. Although it’s not available you can certainly use the same ideas with other papers from your stash. The sentiment comes from Tiny Words & Images stamp set. These are great to fit into the many cut outs and die-cut tags and other shapes that many paper packs bring.
Although most of my cards are blank inside, I wanted to make clear this particular “Thinking of you” card was intended for Mom. So I decorated the inside and also stamped “Happy Mother’s Day” with a wood mounted stamp from My Sentiments Exactly. I don’t have very many wood stamps, since acrylics are so easy to use. But I do have a few especially for those sentiments that aren’t always included in acrylic sets. The swirls on both the outside and the inside are from the Swirls Stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by!
