Thankful for Fall
As Halloween approaches and November arrives, we turn to the season for thanksgiving. So while the rest of the crafty blogosphere is featuring holiday projects (as they demonstrate how to play with all the new holiday goodies that have been released), I want to take a pause to give thanks today. In particular I want to express my gratitude for Fall. The stormy weather we’ve had here in New England recently has resulted in many fallen leaves already with some trees already appearing pretty bare. So today’s card is in celebration of the beauty of fall leaves.
I just love these fall colors and those big colorful leaves. I began with papers from the Happy Harvest collection by Doodlebug. I then stamped the leaf images onto additional papers from the same collection making coordination super easy.
For the leaves I used Gina K. Designs Sun-Kissed Autumn stamp set. I used my round buttons dies from Memory Box to die-cut the little button and used some twine to tie a bow and added it on top of the button.
Finally for the sentiment I used Versatile Verses also from Gina K. Designs. I stamped the “Thanks” onto a piece of white card stock, used my oval nestabilities from Spellbinders to die-cut it out, and inked the inside of the oval while it was still inside of the die with some Antique Linen distress ink.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
