I’m trying to keep up with the weekly challenges at Let’s Scrap, which I have to tell you gets pretty hard when you have a busy full time job and a family to take care of. The deadline is tonight and I’m determined to get it done, especially because I really like the sketch they have up this week.
They usually have sketches for a two page spread, but I find myself mostly doing one page for most of my scrapbooking. It seems I always end up doing the left side of the sketch. I found this sketch to be perfect for photos of my daughter fly-fishing. She’s become quite the fly-fishing girl. Her Dad got her all of the necessary gear so that she no longer has to fish from the shore but can actually get right into that water. He also got some great shots of her, but because of the wooded area some of the photos came out a bit dark with lots of shadow surrounding her face. I discovered that if I turn those photos into sepia toned ones and adjust the brightness of the photos it really enhanced the image. It was a great way to save otherwise so-so shots.
The papers are from Paper Wishes and arrived as part of my personal shopper kit from a couple of months ago. I highly recommend their personal shopper programs. You get tons of product each month or every other month however you want to set it up. You receive gorgeous papers, lots of embellishments, and a newsletter that provides ideas and inspiration for how to use the product. I also used their Easy Scallops template to create the shape around the journaling. The circular image in the middle of the flower is a sticker from a very old sticker sheet I had on my stash. The trick to putting it in the middle of the flower is that I stuck it onto a great big brad, also from Paper Wishes, put the brad through the flower and foam taped the flower onto the page.
Hope you enjoyed the page and all of the ideas. Thanks for stopping by!
