Scrapbook Sunday: Trip to the Moon
Today’s a dreary wet Sunday. It’s chilly and feels more like Fall than Summer. Today is a bitter sweet day also because soon we’ll be on our way to drop off my daughter to her sleep away camp, where she will be for the whole week. The camp is actually not too far away from where we live, but still, it’s hard to think of a week without her humor and bouncy energy in the house. Today’s scrapbook page takes us back to 2004, before she went to any camps at all and the only sleep away trips she took was with us.
I still had out on my desk the papers I used from last week’s scrapbook page so I used the same ones, the Pretty Little Posies papers from Hot Off the Press.
For embellishments I used the ribbon that came in the Personal Shopper collection that included the Pretty Little Posies set of papers. The title took me forever to figure out for some reason. I finally decided to use my Spellbinders circle dies to create the half circles, and split the title “Trip to the Moon” into two different half circles. I used Lawn Fawn Jessie’s ABC’s to stamp out the title and I took the moon from the Plus One set from Lawn Fawn to create two little moon embellishments.
Here’s the rest of the title and embellishments. I love the story behind these photos. My husband would always tell our daughter that one day she should go to the moon and bring him back a moon rock. This particular year we went to the Kennedy Space Center. He kept telling her we were going to go see the rockets that would take us to the moon. As a four year old she believed him. When we finally found a space suit, it was encased as a display and she was so upset that she couldn’t put it on and go to the moon She started to cry and ask why she couldn’t go to the moon. After a nice talk by Dad, she was ok and we went back to having fun.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
