Scrapbook Sunday: Three Kings Day
Happy Sunday everyone!
I hope you all had a great and restful Sunday. I had to work yesterday all day, so my Sunday was a very busy one as I had to do all the errands and chores today that I typically do on Sunday. Fortunately I still had time to create a page for you today. This page for my 2012 album. It’s about my daughter getting her Uggs for Three Kings Day. For those of you that are not familiar with this holiday, throughout Latin America instead of Santa bringing the kids presents, it’s the Three Wise Men who bring the presents and they arrive a bit later, on January 6th. Being Latinos we always wanted to raise our daughter celebrating both Santa and the Three Kings. So yes, it means that she gets presents twice! She’s one lucky goose ain’t she?
For this page I used Heritage Backgrounds from Hot Off The Press. It’s another beautiful versatile collection. For this page I used the more subtle dots and stripes papers in the teals and browns. What I liked about this dotted paper is that it has a bit of pink in the background as well which I thought went well with her pink scarf.
I typically tend to think of my many stamps as tools for cardmaking, not for my scrapbook pages. But this time this stamp of the three wise men was perfect for this page. This image comes fromInkadinkado’s Christmas Season clear stamp set. I stamped it on white cardstock and then used some distress inks and cut it out.
Finally for embellishments I turned to my stash of buttons and ribbon for some dimension and texture.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks for stopping by!
