Scrapbook Sunday: Sea Turtle
Happy Sunday! Today’s page takes us back to the Summer of 2012, our vacation trip to San Diego. These are some of my favorite photos from the trip. Here we are in Sea World visiting the Sea Turtles.
For inspiration I used a sketch from Let’s Scrap. It’s been a long time since I’ve visited Let’s Scrap. I used to use their sketches all the time. Here’s the original sketch.
I took the two horizontal photo layout from the left side of the double page layout. I used hearts as embellishments and cut my journaling into strips. My placement was just a bit different than the sketch. I was going to use different papers, but when I found this patterned paper from Hot Off the Press in my stash, I just thought the photos went perfectly and didn’t want to add anything more to it.
For embellishments I dug deep into my stash. This flower was the last one in my Playful Flowers 3-D Paper Tole collection. I just had to use all the bits and pieces so I could be done with the packaging.
The hearts were chipboard which I covered with coordinating pattern paper and added a few jewel dazzles. I also added tiny jewel dazzles to the centers of the flowers on the patterned paper.
Finally, for the title I found this tag in my stash which fit perfectly with the papers. I stamped the words using Lawn Fawn Jessie’s ABC’s with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The little turtle comes from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Sea. And that was it!
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
