Scrapbook Sunday: Memorial Day Parade 2012

Hi all,

I hope you all had as great a Sunday as I did.  We’ve had a pretty hot start to the month of June here in CT.  Today we spent our first afternoon in the pool.  We got a membership at a local pool club for the first time this summer and tried it out today.  It was absolutely lovely.  We’ll definitely be spending more time there this summer.  Today’s scrapbook page is about my daughter marching in last year’s local Memorial Day Parade.

I really dug deep into my stash of supplies for this page.  I pulled out left over papers and embellishments from HOTP’s Busy Scrappers Solution for School Pages.  I only had  a few papers left from this collection, but they worked perfectly for this page.  All of the borders and embellishments you see are part of this kit.

For some dimension I added red brads throughout the border of stars.  In the bottom corner I added this great bit brad and added a rub-on heart onto the brad to anchor that corner a bit.  Love the added bit of shine that the brads gave to the page.

For the title I used an old tag and a black marker. I decided to keep it simple and just hand write the title. I added a little star cut-out and another red brad to embellish the tag.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
