Scrapbook Sunday: Let It Snow
I’m getting this Scrapbook Sunday posted just in time before Hurricane Sandy reaches us here in Connecticut. We’ve spent the day preparing as best we can. Now there’s not much more to do but to sit and wait, and scrapbook of course!
After reviewing my finished scrapbook albums I realized that since 2006 I’ve been pretty good at scrapbooking each year up to 2011. But somehow I missed a few years before then. I have tons of pictures of my daughters’ earlier years. So I decided to alternate between making pages for the current 2012 album and the 2004 album. Today’s page is the first of the 2004 album.
This was taken in a wintry January day in 2004. My daughter is 3 years old in this photo. She’s 12 years old now. It’s so much fun to walk down memory lane looking at these earlier photos of her. She used to love sledding, no matter how cold it was outside. The background paper comes from an older DCWV Christmas Combo stack of 12×12 papers. It’s a huge stack I picked up at a tag sale at my local scrapbook store. The swirls on the top of the page as well as the decorated border along the bottom of the page are all part of the design of this paper. It was super easy to put this page together.
The main part of this page where I spent some time and effort was the journaling block. I used Spellbinders Labels 8 to cut the two label shapes. I decorated the piece with Paper Wishes Winter Scrapbooking Dazzles.
The final touches were a few more snow flake dazzles throughout and the page was done!
I hope you enjoyed today’s Scrapbook Sunday! We’re expecting very strong winds which inevitably means power outages. So there may not be another post on the blog for a few days. In the meantime, let us all be safe these next couple of days.
Thanks for stopping by!
