Scrapbook Sunday: Last Day in CA
Scrapbook Sunday is back! It’s been a few weeks since I posted a Scrapbook Sunday post but I finally had some time to scrap. It also helps that I got some new goodies to play with yesterday at my local papercraft store. If you are in or near Connecticut you have to check the PaperCraft Clubhouse. Twice a year they have an awesome tag sale where people can sell all of their used goodies. The store sells your items for you and whatever you earn from the sales becomes store credit. So you can get new goodies!!! Of course you can also just go and shop the days of the tag sale. Well yesterday was the first day of the Fall sale. I was there bright and early and it was pretty cold out there. But still I waited along with the many faithful customers for more than an hour before the store opened. And then when it was finally time to go in, my oh my, what a wonderful assortment of goodies. During the first round, (yes I said first round) of shopping I got a whole bunch of stampin up inks, some dies, and a new crop bag. Then after lunch I returned and I was so glad I did. I found some awesome Stampin up card stock too! I also got some fun collections of pattern papers. Today’s page features some of those papers. Check it out!
I used this week’s sketch from Let’s Scrap, which looks like this:
I followed the left hand side of the sketch. It worked perfectly with the photos that I had of our last day in California during our summer vacation last year. I also used some older goodies from my stash.
The letters for the title are some very old die-cut letters I have in my stash. I was surprised that I had all of the letters in the same color. I used a copic marker around the edges to create a bit of a shadow. For embellishments I also pulled out some oldies. The center flower was created with the Fold-It Flips template from Hot Off the Press. I cut the center circle with a Spellbinders Circle die and hand wrote the word “in”. The ribbons I used have also been a part of my stash for many, many years. They coordinated perfectly with the patterns and colors on these papers.
See that little cut out circle in the journaling block? That’s where I cut out the circle that is in the center of the flower. The rest of the piece was the perfect size for the journaling. What to do with the hole? Use it as a frame for an embellishment, of course! The embellishment is a blue button with a flower brad on top. I inserted the legs of the brad into the holes in the button and used a glue dot to add it to the page.
So a great thank you shout-out to PaperCraft Clubhouse for their awesome tag sale. I could not have made this page without the treasures I found there yesterday.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
