Reindeer Christmas Card
First of all let me start with an apology for not posting a Scrapbook Sunday this past Sunday. With the tragedy in Newtown, CT on Friday I just couldn’t bring myself to scrapbook a page, especially when so many of my photos are of my daughter. As a Connecticut resident it’s been very difficult hearing such horrific news so close to home. I just couldn’t bear to create pages celebrating my child when so many mothers were grieving for theirs. In the midst of it though I appreciated this wonderful hobby that is papercrafting. I could find some distraction and solace in creating cards. Christmas is just a short week away. So today I have a whimsical Christmas card that will hopefully bring a smile to your face and help remind us of the joy and hope that this Christmas season is all about.
I added a piece of lightly patterned cream paper onto the green card stock. I used a Fiskars border bunch on both edges of the paper and inked those scallops for more interest. I also added a pop of red with the strips of red card stock.
Of course the reindeer is my favorite part of the card. This cutie is from Lawn Fawn Critters in the Snow. I colored him in with copic markers, cut him out, and added him to the card. The sentiment comes from another older set which I think was Hero Arts but am not sure.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
