Masculine Birthday Card
I hope you are having a great Valentine’s Day today. For my project today I decided not to do another Valentine’s day card, but instead show you a birthday card. I have a few male birthdays this month in my family and so I thought I’d share a masculine birthday card with you today.
Although the sentiment says “Happy Birthday” you can change it to Valentine’s Day and this design would still work since it includes the nice big houndstooth heart. All of the papers I used were bits and pieces of paper left from previous projects using the My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found: Portobello Road 6×6 paper pad. I know a lot of crafty bloggers that every once in a while will talk about challenging themselves to create a card with just what is on their desk. That’s sort of what happened with this card. I didn’t think about it as a challenge though, it just kind of happened :).
For the focal area, first I used the 9 to 5 Background Rubber Stamp by October Afternoon, which I featured on this Friday Faves post. I then used the Hero Arts Heart Frames Framelits to die-cut the heart shape. The little airplane I cut out from a one of the patterned papers from the same My Mind’s Eye pad and then matted it with brown card stock. The sentiment comes from a Gina K. Design stamp set, Stippled Nature.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks for stopping by!
