Lawnscaping Challenge #38: Photo Inspiration
Today I have my submission for the next Lawnscaping Challenge: Inspiration Photo. We were to take inspiration from this photo to create our card.
I was inspired by the yummy yellow cake and created a birthday card. Check it out.
This turned out to be another one of those challenging cards. I just couldn’t decide what papers to use to paper piece the cake. I created like three different cakes, none of which I liked. Then after I settled on this cake I couldn’t think of anything else to add. I kept feeling like I wanted to add something along the bottom, but none of the patterned paper or ribbon I tried looked right to me. I settled for stamping the two swirly stitching lines. Sometimes it’s best just to keep it simple, ya know?
I did add a bit of glitter to the candle flames and the pink pedestal with some Sakura glitter pens. For the stamps I used Lawn Fawn’s Bake Me a Cake and for the stitching lines I used HOTP’s Stamped Stitches. All of the papers are scraps from my collection.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
