Joy to the World
Sorry about being away last week, but I got hit by a nasty bug and I’m just getting around to recuperating. I’m glad to be back playing in my craft room. As my daughter said to me last night, “I know you’re feeling better because you’re back at your crafting table!” Here’s a joyous Christmas card which was a lot of fun to make.
I started with a red card base, which isn’t typical for me. I usually start with a white card base. The background on which the focal image sits shows a perfect usage for scraps of patterned paper. I collected a bunch of strips from my scrap basket and glued them next to each other a scrap piece of white paper. I added a bright ribbon and some brads to embellish the piece. The focal image comes from an older holiday stamp, but I just love the little carolers. I then colored the image with copic markers, such rich deep colors. I then stamped the greeting on another piece of white and matted it with red card stock.
