Happy First Birthday Card
I’d been playing with a lot of my baby themed stamps lately creating all sorts of new baby cards. Instead of creating yet another baby card, I decided to use some of the same stamps to create a first birthday card.
Elephants are pretty popular right now it seems in the stamp world. A couple of stamp companies have recently put out some new sets featuring adorable elephant images. But this one I’ve had in my stash for a while and comes from the It’s the Little Things stamp set by Gina K. Designs.
I stamped the elephant onto the white card base and colored him in with my Prisma Color Pencils and blended using Gamsol. I created a bit of a shadow underneath him using my gray pencils and the gamsol. The balloon comes from the same stamp set. I stamped the balloon onto coordinating paper, cut it out, and glued it onto the stamped image on the card base to complete the little scene. The sentiment comes from an older Papertrey Ink stamp set called Bitty Baby Blessings. The two strips of patterned paper come from Bundle of Joy 6×6 paper pad by Echo Park. I’ve had this set of papers for quite some time. These strips of leftover pieces were the perfect size to accent my card.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and if you did don’t forget to share it with friends.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
