Handmade With Love

Today’s page was inspired by this week’s Let’s Scrap sketch.

Like many of us scrapbookers, I’m quite behind with my scrapbook pages and am still working on last year’s album.  The linear person in me just can’t seem to scrapbook out of order.  I have to do an album for each calendar year and I do my pages in calendar order.  Right now, as I’m trying to finish off 2010 so that I can finally start on 2011, I am in the middle of scrapbooking the holiday season.  Hence the Christmas theme for today’s page.

I only did the left side of the sketch.  I love these photos of my daughter baking coconut cookies for the family and for Santa as well.  I used my digital SLR camera and pretended I was a professional food photographer.  Not too shabby for an amateur, if I do say so myself.  The papers are from Paper Wishes’ August 2010 Scrapbooking Personal Shopper.  This set included papers with a kitchen theme as well as Kitchen Dazzles!  Just love the dazzles.

The technique part of this page was creating those circles.  I used the old Provocraft Coluzzle Circles.  It’s too bad that they no  longer make these.  I know there are all sorts of fancier circle cutters out in the market.  But this one really works for me.  I do discovered I need a new blade.

My favorite parts are all the dazzles.  “Homemade with Love” is part of the dazzles sheet, which was just the perfect title for this page.  All I did was add a tag and write “for Santa.”  On this photo you can also see a close up of that gorgeous dazzle border which stretches the whole length of the page.  So although these aren’t Christmas themed papers, for all of those moments captured in the kitchen during the Holidays, these papers and embellishments worked beautifully.

Thanks for stopping by!
