Freshly Made Sketches #73: Happy Birthday Masculine

Hi all,

I’m posting on a Monday to bring you this masculine birthday card which I created using the sketch from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.  So happy to finally have had time to play along with this challenge blog which I visit all the time, but of course rarely have time to play along with.  First, here’s the sketch.

And here is my version.

I love how this card turned out!  The papers actually come from a Christmas collection.  Don’t be afraid to use some of those seasonal collections for other themes.

That gorgeous image comes from Hero Arts’ Art of the Card: Past Times set.  The images in this set are perfect for masculine cards.  I stamped the image with Brocade Blue ink by Stampin’ Up.  I used by Spellbinders circle dies and my Cuttlebug to cut the image and the brown mat.

For the sentiment I used Pleasant Plurals by Gina K. Designs and Memento Paris Dusk Dew Drop.  I love the Memento Dew Drops because they allow you to get more of the colors in their collection at a much better price, and you can try out the colors first before investing on a full size pad.  The buttons I made using a Martha Stewart punch.  Finally I added some coordinating rick rack and was done!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
