Floral Birthday Card
Hi all,
Last week was my birthday week, and with the holiday and everything, I took a few days off from the blog. Today I’m back with what else but a birthday card of course!

I wanted to play with my MFT stamp set Sweet Roses and the coordinating dies and this is what I came up with. I was really happy with how it turned out. That pretty pattern paper comes from My Minds Eye Fine and Dandy 6×6 paper pad. It coordinated perfectly with Memento Potter’s Clay ink. I used Gina K. Designs Dark Chocolate card stock for the matting.

I love this stamp set because it has both the solid and the outline versions of the same stamp. So I stamped the solid first and then the outline with the same color of ink. I just love how easy it is to create these. I had these brads in my stash. Don’t they coordinate perfectly? Love it when stuff in my stash works well with the newer goodies. For the leaves I used Memento Bamboo Leaves ink following the same process as for the flowers. This set doesn’t include stems. What to do? I cut thin strips of the card stock and solved that problem.

For the sentiment I turned to an older set, MSE’s Birthday Sentiments, with some Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I added some ribbon for texture and rounded the bottom corners with my Corner Chomper.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
