Flamin-go Together Card

Hi all,

I’m finally back from my California vacation.  It was a full two weeks of driving all over the state, checking out colleges with my daughter, and having all sorts of fun.  It’s a bit of a culture shock returning to New England, but I’m getting readjusted to the humidity and to actually having rain.  In the spirit of summer fun I have a fun card for you today featuring some of Lawn Fawn’s summer goodies.

I started out by stamping the Fishscales background stamp from Impression Obsession onto the pink card stock with Versamark ink to create that tone on tone look.

For the focal area I used Lawn Fawn’s stitched rectangle dies to die-cut the white card stock, the kraft card stock, and the patterned paper.  I tore the edges of the pattern paper to simulate waves crashing onto the shore.  I used the hillsides border die to cut out the kraft piece to create a little island and used copics and a Sakura clear glitter pen to create the sand on it.  I then stamped the flamingos from Lawn Fawn’s Flamin-go Together set, colored those with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and die-cut those out.  Then I stamped the palm tree pieces and die-cut those out as well.  Finally I finished the scene using distress inks to create the sky and sun.  Then added some Wink of Stella onto their beaks and stamped the sentiment with black ink.  Lots of steps in creating this card, but I love how it turned out.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
