Elegant Lady Mother's Day Card
I’d recently acquired a few distress markers but hadn’t had the chance to play with them. I’ve seen so many other card makers use these to water color stamped images and was eager to try this technique. I gotta say I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to add more distress markers to my collection. Just look at what I was able to create for Mother’s Day.
I used some papers from my stash, inked the edges and adhered it to some kraft card stock. The focal on this card is what really steals the show.
The image comes from the Vintage Roses stamp set from Our Craft Lounge, a company that isn’t in business anymore, but the set has beautiful images. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Blackink onto water color paper. I used the distress markers and my water brush to color the image in and just look at the gorgeous effects. I found I could get better shading coloring with these than when I use copic markers. I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the label shape and matted it with Dark Chocolate card stock from Gina K. Designs. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I stamped that with the same black ink. I just love how this one turned out.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
