Back to Scrapbooking
I’ve been focusing so much on my cardmaking lately that I’ve been neglecting my scrapbooking and I’ve really missed it. So this weekend I decided to dedicate some time to my Vacation album from last summer. I figured I should try to finish last year’s vacation album since we’re about to go on our next family vacation in a couple of weeks. I used this week’s sketch from Let’s Scrap to get my scrapbooking juices flowing again.
I used the left side of the sketch to create my page. Here’s what I came up with.
For this layout I dug deep into oldies but goodies from my stash. All of the supplies come from Hot Off The Press. For the large title I used Citrus Monograms. These are large die-cut letters. All you need to do is pop them out from the sheet and they are ready to go. The little teardrop piece where I wrote the word “favorite” is actually the inside part of the R.
The different Disney embellishments come from an old collection of punch outs. The little mouse ears hat and the fun arrow on the journaling come from Disney Dazzles. For the journaling piece I used the 15 Lovely Labels to create the label shape. I then added a bit of bling with the red rhinestones and nail heads.
It felt great to finish a larger project like a layout and getting to play with all sorts of supplies. Looking at this photo and remembering the story behind it reminded me of what I love about scrapbooking, that is different from cardmaking. It’s the stories and the memories that I get to remember and relive as I create my layouts. Like this layout about our favorite ride during this trip to the Magic Kingdom. It was the first time my daughter and husband rode on Space Mountain. We went on it twice. It was awesome to watch them share a first experience together.
Thanks for stopping by!
