Back from Thanksgiving & a Coupon

Hi All,

I hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving.  I spent mine visiting my Dad and his wife in sunny Florida.  It was a short visit, but we had a wonderful time.  We were even able to squeeze in a visit to the Magic Kingdom.  Here are a few images from our fun time away.  I’ll be back Tuesday with more crafty inspiration.  In the meantime, I have a coupon for you to enjoy at my Etsy shop.  Enter code CYBERMON14 when you check out and receive 25% off your total purchase.

IMG_1844Here’s one way for a girl and her grandpa to have some fun, ride the zero turn mower together.

IMG_1880Another way to have fun is to get her first driving lesson from grandpa in his snazzy jeep–her dream car by the way.

IMG_1929Dinner was a team effort.  I made the spiral ham with plenty of help and consultation from the team, my daughter made the awesome potato salad and the cupcakes, and the delicious rice with pigeon peas was made by my Dad’s wife (who is wearing hospital scrubs because she had to dash off to her shift that night, poor thing). It was simple, small, but just perfect.

IMG_1936The next day we headed bright and early to the Magic Kingdom.  It was a gorgeous day, perfect 60 degree weather.  We ran to Thunder Mountain, our favorite ride, and the lines were short enough we got on twice!

IMG_1945The new Rapunzel rest area is super adorable and was definitely one of my daughter’s favorite spots.

IMG_2079And of course a visit to the Magic Kingdom isn’t complete until you see Mickey and Minnie in one of their parades.  After the parade we headed back to pack our bags and get up super early to catch our flight in the morning.

I hope you all had just as much fun on your Thanksgiving and are now ready to begin the Holiday season in full swing.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Sheep!!!!

Hi all,

I have a different kind of post for you today.  No time to scrapbook today because we were invited to visit a sheep farm.  It was a very cold fall day today which wil explain the layers we have on. Nonetheless we still had a nice time learning about different kinds of sheep, watching an adorable border collie herd the sheep, and finally, petting some sheep.  Here’s a little bit of what we got to see today.

IMG_0980My husband and my daughter happy to be on a sheep farm even if it was a little cold.

IMG_0982Fuzzy sheep!  These were new to the farm and were still a bit uncomfortable around people.  So even though we desperately wanted to pet all of that fuzziness they kept running away from us.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Merry Christmas Poinsettia Card

Hi all,

Home again from work because of more snow! It’s definitely been the snowiest December we’ve had in a long time, and the month isn’t even over yet.  So it means that today’s blog post can go up a bit earlier.  Today’s card allowed me to use some of my newest dies from Spellbinders and My Favorite Things.

il_570xN.540051235_57ziThe papers come from My Mind’s Eye Santa Claus 6×6 pad.  I believe I got this one last year.  I don’t know but my 6×6 pads last me forever.  I also cut the poinsettia and the letters from the same papers.

The letters were very easy to cut with MFT’s Christmas Greetings Die-namics.  The more time consuming part was going over all the edges with a black marker.  I just thought they popped off the background more with that little bit of details, and then of course gluing each letter individually.  But I just love that large sentiment.

il_570xN.539960208_akpqThe Poinsettia was cut using Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia.  I inked the vines with some ink and went over it with my Wink of Stella glitter pen.  I opted for a brad in the center.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project!  Thanks so much for stopping by.
